Shipwreck Hunter, Diver, Engineer, Maritime Researcher
Johnny loves all things ocean-based, with his curiosity and passion for historical research pushing the Shipwreck Hunters team to strive for more epic discoveries.
Johnny began his professional career as a highly trained commercial diver, and over the past decade, he has embraced video production and storytelling. Johnny believes that the beauty and rawness of the ocean can teach us a lot about ourselves. Johnny is a proud family man, and also maintains a focus on building strong mental health. He wants to share the joy of the underwater world with everyone through captivating real-life stories of shipwrecks and the wonder of ocean wildlife.
Shipwreck Hunter, Dive Leader, Drone Pilot, Underwater Camera
From raging seas to quiet coral shallows, Ryan feels most at home in the ocean. Ryan is a former commercial diver turned award-winning photographer.
Starting out as a commercial deep-sea diver, Ryan has since become a skilled photographer, drone pilot and underwater cinematographer. A core member ofย Shipwreck Hunters Australia, he thrives in challenging environments, capturing everything from historic wrecks to the quiet beauty of reef life. A proud father, he shares his love of the ocean with his family and is driven to uncover the stories hidden beneath the waves.
Shipwreck Hunter, Waterman, Lead Underwater Camera
Andre has carved out an incredible career as one of Australiaโs top underwater cinematographers. He is willing to go into places and situations many wouldnโt.
A highly qualified deep sea diver and incredible open water free diver, Andre couples these skills with his ability to predict wildlife behaviour and be in the right moment at the right time with his high-end underwater camera equipment. Born in New Zealand, but having lived in Western Australia most of his life, Andre calls the magic north west coast home, where he hits the water every single day and sets off on missions all over Australia and around the world, filming wildlife and searching for shipwrecks.
Shipwreck Hunter, Diver, Wildlife Whisperer, Underwater Camera
Nush is an ocean adventurer driven by a love of wildlife and a passion for protecting and conserving our precious environment.
A highly skilled diver, free-diver, cinematographer and photographer, Nushโs skills have enabled her to travel far and wide to capture breathtaking moments and tell stories of beauty and resilience. After first putting her head below water at Ningaloo Reef as a small child, Nush has been drawn to immerse herself in the natural world. She has been to Antarctica twice, filmed on the African savannah, ridden across Australia and chased shipwrecks and wildlife moments all around the incredible coast of Australia. Nush is a passionate, unique and driven young woman, who loves nothing more than the thrill of a shipwreck hunt.
Shipwreck Hunter, Master Mariner, Designer
Ash is the ultimate shipwreck-hunting captain, with a life spent on the ocean skippering ships to far-off, treacherous locations. Ash has a unique ability to make magical moments out of anything.
Ash has lived and breathed shipwrecks, ocean exploration, and boats his entire life, with his knowledge and experience of the wild Western Australian coastline being a valuable asset to any shipwreck mission. But, what you might not know, is that Ash is also an enigmatic entrepreneur, a world-class bar designer and a best-selling author and illustrator. Above all else, he is obsessed with ocean-going history and discovering a shipwreck is his ultimate prize.
The Shipwreck Hunters team is more than Ryan, Andre, Nush, Johnny and Ash. There is a much bigger Shippies family of passionate people who bring expertise, knowledge and support to the crew. Wrecksperts Annie Boyd and Alasdair Cooke, maritime archaeologists from the Western Australian Museum, plus researchers, discoverers and the whole documentary series production team led by Director/Producer Brendan Hutchens, Executive Producer Steve Bibb and Line Producer Rose Grandile-Pizzi. There is also a huge amount of support that comes from boat operators, specialised search equipment providers, First Nations traditional owners and local shipwreck lovers. We would like to thank Terra Firma Offshore, SeaDoo, Surrich and STR who have all shown such awesome interest and support. Want to partner with us?
